Lee Thurburn: President
Lee Thurburn graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1981 with a BBA in Accounting. Upon graduation he worked for Arthur Anderson in their Dallas Tax Division. In 1982 he started a private CPA Firm with a partner and sold that business to his partner in 1985 when he joined First Eye Care as the Executive Director. Over two years with First Eye Care he grew the provider network (optometrists and ophthalmologists) from 7 doctors with 6 offices to 25 doctors with 17 offices across the DFW area.
From 1987 through 1993 Mr. Thurburn provided business management and consulting services to optometry and ophthalmology professionals. During that time he wrote a book titled Modern Optometry, a Practice Management Guide which sold over 5,000 copies and was used as a textbook for practice management courses at Colleges of Optometry.
In 1992 Mr. Thurburn received an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington. In 1992 he published a book titled “Mexico: The New Land of Opportunity – a Guide to doing business in Mexico” which sold a total of over 5,000 copies from 1992 through 1995. In 1993, as a result of the success of the book on Mexico, Mr. Thurburn started a publishing and online information company providing marketing services to U.S. companies looking for clients in Mexico related to the growth of trade due to the implementation of the NAFTA.
In 1995 Mr. Thurburn founded FlashNet, Inc. as an Internet Service Provider where he served as CEO and Chairman of the Board. By 1999 Mr. Thurburn grew FlashNet to nearly 400 employees and provided Internet dial-up access service to over 250,000 customers across the U.S. In March 1999 Mr. Thurburn took FlashNet public through an IPO on the NSADAQ under the symbol of FLAS. FlashNet was sold to Prodigy/S.W. Bell Telephone in October 1999.
In 2002 Mr. Thurburn founded NetOffer, Inc. as a broad-spectrum marketing service. NetOffer is a Business Social Media Marketing technology provider offering a unique and powerful suite of ‘social media’ technologies in an integrated software system that enables clients to market their businesses in a much more efficient and cost effective manner than would be possible using other currently available systems.
Mr. Thurburn frequently speaks on the subjects of how to leverage social media technologies to increase sales and lower marketing costs. Mr. Thurburn focuses his attention on education of the audience as educated clients make the best decisions.
